Your agent video is a perfect opportunity to show off your industry skills and experience, your local insights, and your personality. Your video also helps create a sense of trust and transparency with your customers by giving an actual face to your business – your face!
In today’s fast-paced digital world, videos are the key to smart content marketing. Videos help you connect and engage with your audience on a much more personal level. Text on a website gets the job done, but it just doesn’t connect with a consumer in the same way that a well-executed video does.
The goal is to create a video that not only captures your audience’s attention and gives them the information they need, but also leaves them feeling like they truly know you.
Keep these rules in mind when making your agent video:
A high-quality camera and tripod are keys to creating an impressive agent video. If you don’t have access to a camera, don’t worry. Today’s smartphones are just as good – just be make sure it’s in landscape mode before you start rolling. Use a tripod or place your camera or phone on a static surface to avoid inducing motion sickness.
The key is to have your light source behind the camera and facing you. Natural light is always best.
Shoot your video in a quiet area – preferably inside. Even seemingly quiet background noise or wind can be heard on camera.
Place about 6 feet between you and the camera.
People tend to look more flattering from an angle. Try placing your camera slightly to the side to create a more attractive final product.
Articulate every word so your viewers can fully understand your message. Avoid rambling. You want to get your message across concisely without all the fluff.
Show off that smile! Be your friendly, cheerful self – no one wants to work with a cranky agent.
Most people have short attention spans. Keep your video under 2 minutes – under 1 minute is even better.
This is your time to shine, so be sure to look your best. Stick with solid colored clothing and avoid funky patterns, washed-out shades, and wrinkled fabrics. Also, stay away from oversized accessories – they can be distracting.
Remember – this is an opportunity to show off your personality so people can get a glimpse of the real you.
Your agent website is the perfect place to feature your agent video. Your video must be uploaded to YouTube before you can display it on your Zap site. Once your video is up on YouTube, click on My Website in Zap and go to the “About Me” section. Paste your YouTube video URL in the box provided. Follow these steps:
You can only display one video on your website, but if you’d like to add a link to your YouTube channel, you can add the URL in the Resources module.
Show off your agent video on your Facebook page as well as any other social media channel you’re using to market yourself. You can post it to your timeline, share it on other people’s timelines, or add your YouTube link to your “About” tab.
