How to use Zap like a pro: advice from a Zap Specialist

Whether she’s training new agents or promoting the latest updates, Pam goes above and beyond to ensure everyone on her team is well-versed in all things Zap. “It’s showing them what’s available, why they should use it, and how that looks to a consumer,” Pam said.

After speaking with Pam, it’s clear that her enthusiasm is contagious. Coldwell Banker Seaside Realty’s agents are thriving – and they’re only just getting started! Here’s her best advice for agents just starting out on Zap.


Pick the perfect domain name

Your domain name is essentially your brand – so you want to make sure its short, sweet, and most of all, memorable. “The domain name is so important,” said Pam. “Pick something that’s not so long – something catchy. Promote it and put it on the bottom of your signature and on your business card.”


Let your personality shine

What’s the one thing that will make your website stand out from all the other agent’s websites out there? You! Pam encourages her agents to select a photo that’s different than the one on the company site so they can show a bit of individuality. “You want to make your agent website look the best. Change your profile picture – make sure it’s recent. List your experience. Do a video. Link out to all your social media platforms.”


Pay attention

Zap gives you this amazing super power to see what your customers are up to – so use it! “Our agents really love to see what their clients are looking, to know that they are looking at the property, to set them up for a search, to have Zap do the work for them – they like that,” explained Pam.


Rack up your reviews

You work hard to make your customers happy. Don’t let all that hard work go unnoticed! Reviews are the best way to let potential customers know just how awesome you are. “I’ll Google and agent and the Zap stars will come up from our site!” Pam told me. “My goal is to have every agent in our company to have a review.”


Add Agent Insights

Local Insights and Property Insights are super easy features to use that allow you to showcase your local expertise and agent skills.  “Even if you don’t have any business as a new agent, you can go tour properties and your Property Insights will show up at the bottom of your site,” said Pam.


Be patient

Some leads are worth waiting for. Pam told me plenty of cases where passive leads turned into transacting leads. “The leads take a bit longer because they’re in the early stages. We had a passive lead close that didn’t really come in on a specific property – they were just searching in a certain area. The agent saw that and sold them a house!”


Motivate each other

Never underestimate the power of a good support system. If you are having difficulty with a feature or just discovered something new in Zap that’s worth sharing, reach out to the other agents on your team. “We select a Zap Superstar to feature in our newsletter each month. It’s usually the agent who is the most active on Zap - who has the best picture, the most Local Insights or reviews, and so on,” Pam explained.


Log in

Logging in is the first step to making magic happen. “You need to be looking at Zap on a regular basis – and the mobile app lets you do that. I think it’s a terrific CRM, I really do,” Pam said.
